EPO Law AI – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Privacy & Data Security

1. How does EPO Law protect my confidential and sensitive information?

We take attorney–client privilege and confidentiality seriously. All case data stored in EPO Law is protected with enterprise-grade encryption in transit and at rest. Additionally:

  • Company data is never shared with outside parties - Multi-tenant architecture ensures complete data isolation between firms
  • We do not use your data for model training - API agreements with OpenAI GPT-4o and Anthropic Claude explicitly prevent your data from training their models
  • Strict access controls ensure only authorized users can view or edit cases
  • Role-based permissions and session-based authentication protect sensitive information
  • Secure storage - Documents remain in encrypted directories accessible only to your company

2. How is Personally Identifiable Information (PII) handled?

Before any case material is processed by our AI analysis engine, sensitive identifiers such as client names, addresses, and account numbers are blacked out. This ensures privacy and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

Additional PII protections include: - Data Isolation: All data is segregated by company - Secure Processing: Documents are processed server-side with encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest - Temporary Processing: AI analysis occurs in memory; documents are stored securely in isolated directories - No PII Extraction: Our AI doesn't extract or store PII separately; it analyzes legal content in context

3. Could my legal strategies be compromised through AI analysis?

No. Your strategic information remains completely confidential because: - Zero Training Data: Your documents don't train AI models - Company Isolation: Multi-tenant architecture prevents cross-company data access - Session-Based Processing: Each analysis is independent with no memory between sessions - No Data Sharing: We never aggregate or analyze patterns across different companies

4. Is my data used to train AI models?

No. Your data is used only for your cases. We do not use client information to train or improve external AI systems. EPOLaw uses API-based AI services with data processing agreements that explicitly prevent your data from being used to train their models.

5. How do I know EPO Law is secure for my firm?

  • Encrypted storage and secure authentication (HTTPS with TLS 1.2+)
  • PII redaction prior to AI processing
  • Regular audits and monitoring
  • Automatic logout after inactivity
  • Commitment to data privacy and compliance
  • No sensitive data transmitted in URLs

AI Accuracy & Reliability

6. What about AI "hallucinations" or inaccurate responses?

We understand the legal industry requires precision. To address this:

  • Every analysis result includes citations and direct links to source cases and legal documents
  • Users can always verify the AI's recommendations by reviewing the primary sources themselves
  • AI is positioned as an assistant, not a replacement for lawyer judgment
  • Results should be reviewed by qualified attorneys before relying on them
  • The system uses GPT-4o, the most advanced language model, for superior comprehension

7. How does EPO Law ensure accuracy in legal research?

EPO Law is built with a dedicated law library and research tools. When our AI produces an analysis, it references actual case law with citations, eliminating blind reliance on generated text. Lawyers always have access to the full cited case for independent validation.

8. What steps are being taken to address bias in AI?

AI can reflect bias from its training data. To reduce this risk, we:

  • Regularly review outputs for fairness
  • Provide explainable citations so attorneys can check reasoning
  • Encourage human oversight in all AI-assisted outputs
  • Always validate AI-generated content against primary sources
